The first floating lightbulb, beautifully designed.

Thomas Edison is credited for inventing the modern
day lightbulb while Nikola Tesla is credited as the father of wireless power transfer. As art installation, Flyte references both inventors pushing each other away with opposite forces through magnetic fields.
Magnetic levitation and resonant inductive coupling are a challenge to carefully balance.

Beautifully designed

The Flyte team has designed a subtle and stylish floating lightbulb, whose wood base is made from sustainably sourced oak. The lamp gently turns magically on itself. Flyte will evolve according to the different room’s air flows.

Long-lasting bulb

Flyte is powered by long-lasting LEDs, so the bulb will never have to be changed. It is estimated to last about 50,000 hours, or about 6 hours a day for 22 years.

On / Off

The lightbulb illuminates automatically when the bulb is placed above the wood base, but it can also be turned on and off by touching the base. The base is connected to the wall by a cord, providing the energy for the light. When not powering the lightbulb, the base can also be used to charge devices like phones.
